Florence for Families

This is a tailor-made itinerary for kids and an excellent introduction to the city for adults too!  My team is happy to offer you a large number of kid-friendly activities, tested by many “little assistants” and lots of young explorers from all over the world. A guided tour that brings to life the habits of the Medici family or a hunt to chase exotic animals on fresco paintings and through the streets of Florence. For little explorers we may also propose the Museo Stibbert’s porcelain warriors, armors and antique daggers which will keep kids engaged for hours! Not to be missed, a special ride on the colorful antique carousel in Piazza della Repubblica with a refreshing gelato afterwards! Little chefs in training may even try to bake a tasty pizza in a traditional oven! Explore a home from the 1300s and its trap doors, tiny bathrooms and hidden safes. Climbing the old wooden staircase of a medieval tower as far as the top loggia overlooking downtown Florence will be a priceless experience for the entire family. For the creative little artists pencils and drawings will help introduce kids to Botticelli’s, Giotto’s and Michelangelo’s outstanding talents and to everyday life during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Suggested Itinerary:

  • LengthImmagine 10: up to 3 hours.
  • Meeting point: at the lobby of your hotel if located in the downtown Florence
  • Main sites and content: we have plenty of proposals according to kids’ age and special interests. For example we may include Piazza della Repubblica and its Merry-go-round, (frescoed) parrots at Museo Palazzo Davanzati, a spectacular view from a 13th century medieval tower climbing its antic wooden staircase, secret passages within the antic townhall or  hunt “Fiorino”, the prestigious golden coin of Florence. Special stop for a personal wish making at the Florentine Porcellino (“piglet“) market. Final refreshing surprise with artisanal creamy gelato or fruit sorbet
  • Bonus: pencils and drawings, special stop at artcraft shop to get to know one of the most famous Florentine heroes…Pinocchio!

FLORENCE TREASURE HUNT…searching for footprints of lions and for flowers. KID FRIENDLY MUSEUM TOURS, SPECIAL FOCUS ON A SPECIFIC ARTIST OR THEME ACCORDING TO FAMILY INTERESTS.
